The Home Depot's Profit Falls Despite Beating Analysts' Expectations Amid lower demand for big-ticket purchases due to high interest rates, The Home Depot reported a decrease in net income to $2.8 billion, profit per share to $2.82, and a 2.9% drop in net sales. Despite expectations of $2.77 earnings, same-store sales declined by 3.5%, with U.S. same-store transactions dropping even more at 4.0%. The company focused on strategic investments and plans to open 12 stores in 2024 while expecting a 1.0% sales growth.
