TGI SELLS STORES: TGI Fridays will sell eight restaurants in the Northeast to former CEO Ray Blanchette and close 36 underperforming locations across the U.S.

Underperforming Locations: TGI Fridays will shutter 36 locations in select markets as part of its ongoing strategy to revitalize the brand.

  • CEO's Revitalization: Ray Blanchette, former CEO of TGI Fridays, will lead the revitalization of the eight stores he is acquiring.

  • Store Locations: The eight stores being sold to Blanchette include six in Massachusetts (Braintree, Boston/Brigham, Everett, Methuen, Millbury, and Stoughton) and two in New Hampshire (Concord and Manchester).

  • New Leadership: TGI Fridays appointed Weldon Spangler as CEO, Ray Risley as U.S. president and COO, and Nik Rupp as president and COO of international and CFO.

Future Vision: TGI Fridays aims to strengthen its franchise model and drive forward its vision for the future by optimizing operations and closing underperforming stores.

Global Presence: TGI Fridays currently operates more than 650 restaurants in 51 countries.
