Shell USA Market has acquired Brewer's 45 c-stores in New Mexico to expand its retail footprint and enhance convenience offerings in key markets.

  • Customer Base: Brewer's expansive customer base and desirable locations will provide immediate value to Shell.

  • Foodservice Offering: Many of Brewer's stores offer made-to-order foodservice items like burritos, sandwiches, burgers, fried chicken, and pizza.

  • Long-standing Relationship: Brewer has been a Shell wholesaler since the 1970s and also offers Chevron-branded fuel at its locations.

  • Shell's Market Presence: Shell USA markets fuel at about 14,000 Shell-branded gas stations in 49 states and owns nearly 250 c-stores in the U.S.

  • Murphy USA plans to add up to 35 new stores in 2024. Despite falling short on its store goal last year, the company has strategies in place to overcome issues with permitting, labor, and other delays. By building its pipeline faster and allowing for possible setbacks, Murphy USA aims to put more stores into service in 2024. The company also plans to renovate 50 existing locations and improve merchandise offerings based on data gathered from QuickChek stores. The move will cost Murphy USA over $300 million. (Read More)

  • Playa Bowls continues nationwide growth. The quick-serve chain, known for its acai, pitaya, mango, green, and coconut bowls, has signed eight new multi-unit franchise agreements, resulting in 54 upcoming locations. These new agreements will expand Playa Bowls' presence in Chicago, Miami, New York, Boston, and other regions. Playa Bowls plans to open 75 new shops by the end of 2024 and secure commitments for an additional 150 locations. This strategic growth includes targeted expansion in Houston and Dallas. With over 200 shops operating in 22 states, Playa Bowls aims to establish a presence across the entire US. (Read More)
